It&#8217;s this: losing weight on a GLP-1 means losing a meaningful proportion of lean tissue alongside fat, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">unless you take specific steps to preserve it.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For a perimenopausal woman, this matters more than for a younger one. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Estrogen-driven muscle decline is already underway. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add medication-driven lean mass loss on top, and body composition can change significantly in just a few months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why does this matter so much?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Muscle is metabolic insurance. Nutrient Intake Drops Significantly<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you&#8217;re eating 20\u201340% less food, you&#8217;re getting 20\u201340% less of everything in it. Protein, iron, B12, magnesium, vitamin D, electrolytes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All of it drops in proportion.
